Coco Cocaine (NL)

Punk where both musically and lyrically that extra thought is given. Not the clichéd '70s punk bingo of Hang Youth, singing about multinationals with American instruments. These two ladies from The Hague know how to deliver a punk song: a thick, repetitive, fast bass/drum riff, and then anything goes. Especially when you add the right piercing guitar tones. But 'Breastpump' shows that you can do it without those guitars.

And then that cover that says it all. No parody of a Hüsker Dü album or a grainy photo characteristic of Clash albums. Yet the artwork grabs the essence of Punk by the throat: DO IT YOURSELF. What we see is what Photoshop can do for someone who's just started: cut, paste. It shouldn't get any harder. And yet... it's full of symbolism, like the half-peeled banana with the condom, presumably, as a critique of sex education...

Additionally, they will be performing at Grauzone!
