Maria Uzor (uk)

Maria Uzor, hailing from Norfolk, UK, is an electronic artist whose art explores outsider themes and journeys through time and space. With a blend of electro, trip-hop, and bass-techno, Maria takes her listeners on a captivating sonic adventure.

"I want people to feel it's okay to be unique, to cast aside insecurities and embrace their true selves," Maria asserts. Her musical journey began in Norwich, influenced by Caribbean parties and Top Of The Pops, and she's since ventured from punk group The Incidentals to her time as one half of SINK YA TEETH.
In her post-genre sound, she draws inspiration from afrobeat to Massive Attack. Collaborations with Chk Chk Chk, Adrian Flanagan, and A Certain Ratio have widened her horizons. Now, her debut album 'Soft Cuts' arrives in October 2023, signifying a new beginning. Notably, Maria performed at Grauzone in 2019 with SINK YA TEETH, and they will return with her brand new solo project.
