American singer/songwriter and visual artist Marissa Nadler embraces darkness in a raw visceral way into all of her albums, pushing boundaries of genre and style. With her blend of folk, gothic Americana and dreamy pop she sets an original hypnotical musical framework plucking her six or twelve string guitar, by the likes of fans ranging from indie folk to black metal. On her visit to Grauzone Festival, Marissa will do a show ánd will bring an exclusive selection of her paintings to contribute to GRAUKUNST/ARTNROLL.

Back in 2019 we asked Marissa Nadler to share her personal end of the year list. What a lot of people don’t realize, this is a really hard question to answer! Like Marissa and us at Grauzone, many people listen to old music. Just look at the line-up, in Grauzone’s high rotation list you will find CAN, Sonic Youth, Blurt, Test Dept. or The Fall. Also it takes some time for some new music to get under your skin if it doesn’t hit you in the face straight away… Anyway, try it, make your own end of the year list and get a whole year of amazing music into a list of ten songs. Marissa succeeded, here are 10 songs you might have missed last year. To each their own musical bubble, here is a little peek in the one from Marissa Nadler!

1. SQURL- Robby’s Theme
2. Angel Olsen - All Mirrors
3. Big Thief - Not
4. Sunn O))) - Troubled Air
5. Jenny Hval - Accident
