Code of Conduct

At Grauzone festivals and our events, we strive to cultivate a secure, inclusive, and diverse environment for everyone. Our goal is to create a space where individuals of various identities, backgrounds, cultures, and experiences can come together. We are committed to ensuring that Grauzone and our events, including our program, are welcoming to everyone, regardless of their origin, gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, or age. An open-minded attitude is expected from all participants. Failure to adhere to our Code of Conduct may result in removal from the festival.

Following the Berlin Code of Conduct with specific emphasis on certain areas, we prioritize education for inclusivity and safety. We welcome suggestions for improvement to ensure that our artists and visitors feel safe and valued. We actively learn from feedback, incidents, or mistakes.

Harassment includes:

  • Physical contact without consent or after a request to stop

  • Threats of violence

  • Deliberate intimidation

  • Stalking or following

  • Unwanted photography or recording, including logging online activity for harassment purposes

  • Deliberate misgendering

  • Unwelcome sexual attention

  • Pattern of inappropriate social contact, such as requesting/assuming inappropriate levels of intimacy with others

  • Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease

Should you experience feelings of unsafety, encounter spiteful behavior, or witness violence (both verbal and physical), please contact our staff or volunteers. We will respond promptly. If you observe a violation or have concerns, please approach the staff at our location's info counters.

In the event that the violator is part of the festival team (crew or volunteers), they will recuse themselves from handling the incident and be investigated by the rest of the team. We are committed to swift and appropriate action.
