KONG / YOKOCOLA / STAKBABBER

yokocola2.jpg

Stakbabber is the band of Mick Ness, known from the dutch Ultra movement and bands as Mecano, Sexepil. Their sound can be described as indie and post-punk. They released their first record 'Polorized' in 2015.

Kong creates a mix of instrumental alternative rock and avant garde. After an hiatus from from 2000 till 2007 they're still unstoppable with an impressive live set.

YOKOCOLA is punk on acid and born and raised in Rotterdam. With one of the best unconventional front woman of our time (next to our cult legend Lydia Lunch ofcourse).
They're making obstructive, hysterical, honest & psychedelic cellarsounds.

ANNA VON HAUSSWOLFF

Anna von Hausswolff is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and pianist from Sweden who was one of Grauzone Festival' highlights of 2017 at Paard, Den haag. She made her performance debut in 2008 and recorded in the meantime 5 albums and 2 EP's. December 2017, she’s launched the menacing new song The Mysterious Vanishing Of Electra which will feature on her album titled Dead Magic. The follow-up to 2015’s The Miraculous is now available for pre-order and scheduled to arrive on March 2 via City Slang.

Von Hausswolff says: “Dear listeners. This is the first track from my new album, Dead Magic! Me, my band and Randall Dunn spent nine days in Copenhagen recording this record. “The great pipe organ you’re hearing is a 20th century instrument located in Marmor Kirken, The Marble Church, Copenhagen.” The Gothenburg-based artists goes on to quote a poem by Swedish writer Walter Ljungquist. It reads: “Take the fate of a human being, a thin pathetic line that contours and encircles an infinite and unknown silence.  “It is in this very silence, in an only imagined and unknown centre, that legends are born. Alas! That is why there are no legends in our time. “Our time is a time deprived of silence and secrets; in their absence no legends can grow.”

Von Hausswolff will play at March 10 at Paard, Den Haag.

MATT HOLLYWOOD & THE BAD FEELINGS (Brian Jonestown Massacre)

Matt Hollywood Beginning in 1991 with infamous psych-rock provocateurs The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Matt Hollywood has trodden many musical paths over the last two and a half decades. From deceptively accessible BJM standouts like Not If You Were The Last Dandy On Earth and Maybe Tomorrow, to the tripped-out folk pop of The Out Crowd, and the hazy elegance of Rebel Drones, Hollywood's songwriting has wandered through multiple genres, the playful experimentation always grounded in a core of earnest emotion. Drawing on such diverse influences as Cohen, Hazlewood, Morricone, Gainsbourg, and classic blues and country, Hollywood is returning to the road with music from his upcoming WavePOP Records release, as well as some old favorites and never-heard-live rarities.

PARRISH SMITH /BOY HARSHER / QUAL / ELIXER

BOY HARSHER is a dark electronic duo that produces gritty dance beats infused with ethereal vocals, creating a sound that is eerie, intense and incredibly danceable. Augustus Muller develops the underbelly of sound with minimal beats and grinding synths, where Jae Matthews whispers, screams and chants on top. Together, the music created is somewhere between industrial, drone and confessional storytelling. Muller and Matthews both have a strong background in film and their cinematic approach translates effectively in both their recordings and live performance.
