Me, my band and Randall Dunn spent nine days in Copenhagen recording this record. “The great pipe organ you’re hearing is a 20th century instrument located in Marmor Kirken, The Marble Church, Copenhagen.” The Gothenburg-based artists goes on to quote a poem by Swedish writer Walter Ljungquist. It reads: “Take the fate of a human being, a thin pathetic line that contours and encircles an infinite and unknown silence.  “It is in this very silence, in an only imagined and unknown centre, that legends are born. Alas! That is why there are no legends in our time. “Our time is a time deprived of silence and secrets; in their absence no legends can grow.”

MATT HOLLYWOOD & THE BAD FEELINGS (Brian Jonestown Massacre)

Matt Hollywood Beginning in 1991 with infamous psych-rock provocateurs The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Matt Hollywood has trodden many musical paths over the last two and a half decades. From deceptively accessible BJM standouts like Not If You Were The Last Dandy On Earth and Maybe Tomorrow, to the tripped-out folk pop of The Out Crowd, and the hazy elegance of Rebel Drones, Hollywood's songwriting has wandered through multiple genres, the playful experimentation always grounded in a core of earnest emotion. Drawing on such diverse influences as Cohen, Hazlewood, Morricone, Gainsbourg, and classic blues and country, Hollywood is returning to the road with music from his upcoming WavePOP Records release, as well as some old favorites and never-heard-live rarities.

Augustus Muller develops the underbelly of sound with minimal beats and grinding synths, where Jae Matthews whispers, screams and chants on top. Together, the music created is somewhere between industrial, drone and confessional storytelling. Muller and Matthews both have a strong background in film and their cinematic approach translates effectively in both their recordings and live performance.
