Desinteresse (NL)
Desinteresse is a Dutch coldwave act formed in late 2022 by Bart Vranken (bass) and Sem van den Munckhof (vocals/synth/guitar). In 2024, Joppe de Swart (drums) joined to complete the current trio. That same year, Desinteresse made their mark with a performance at Grauzone Festival, bringing their stark and uncompromising sound to an international audience.
Their debut studio album ‘Onschuld’ was released on September 9, 2025 via Fabrika Records (home to Lebanon Hanover, She Past Away, Selofan). Produced entirely in analog, the album was created using tape machines, vintage instruments, effects and amplifiers from the 1970s and 80s, with the goal of capturing the raw spirit of that era. Sung in their native Dutch, Onschuld reflects the band’s vision of authenticity and intensity.
Musically, Desinteresse takes inspiration from The Cure’s Faith and Pornography, as well as Joy Division and the lesser-known Japanese band 少女人形 (Shōjoningyō). They also cite the French band Trop Tard—the spark that led them to start making music in the first place—as a lasting influence. The result is a sound that channels coldwave tradition through a deeply personal, uncompromising lens.
