Ductape (tr)
Istanbul’s Ductape are a Turkish post-punk/darkwave duo formed by Çağla Güleray (vocals, synthesizer) and Furkan Güleray (guitar, bass, drum programming). Since emerging in 2019, they have developed a distinctive sound built around melancholic melodies, driving rhythms and emotionally charged lyrics in both Turkish and English.
Drawing from the darker corners of ’80s post-punk and darkwave while firmly belonging to the contemporary goth scene, Ductape balance raw intensity with an immersive, cinematic atmosphere. Çağla’s haunting and instantly recognizable vocals meet Furkan’s distinctive guitar work, brooding basslines and relentless rhythms to create a sound that is both hypnotic and powerful.
Releases including the acclaimed Echo Drama have taken Ductape far beyond their Istanbul roots. In 2024, they joined forces with She Past Away, one of the world’s leading darkwave bands, for the single “Ölüm Günüm”, bringing together two generations of Turkish darkwave. Their latest album, Faded Flowers, released in September 2026, marks the newest chapter in the duo’s evolution.
Through intense and captivating live performances, Ductape have built an increasingly international following. Dark, melancholic and deeply atmospheric, yet driven by an energy made for the stage, they have become one of the most compelling new voices in contemporary post-punk and darkwave.
