Jakuzi (tr)

Hailing from Istanbul, Jakuzi blend darkwave, post-punk and synth-pop with Turkish lyrics and echoes of Middle Eastern musical traditions, creating a sound that is melancholic, seductive and irresistibly danceable. With their distinctive aesthetic, emotional intensity and dynamic live performances, Jakuzi evoke the darker side of the ’80s while giving it an unmistakably contemporary Istanbul identity.

Founded in 2015 by Kutay Soyocak and Taner Yücel, Jakuzi first gained international attention with their debut album Fantezi Müzik (2017), later re-released by Berlin label City Slang. Drawing inspiration from artists such as John Maus, The Human League and Depeche Mode, they developed their own 21st-century interpretation of synth-pop and new wave, filtered through the sounds and culture of their homeland.

Their second album Hata Payı (2019) took Jakuzi into darker and more introspective territory, while Madalyon I (2024) further expanded their sound with cinematic production and themes of identity, transformation and emotional struggle.

After extensive touring across Europe, Jakuzi have built a devoted international following. Dark, romantic and deeply emotional, their music moves effortlessly between introspection and the dancefloor.
