OVER 15 NEW NAMES ANNOUNCED FOR GRAUZONE

From Friday, February 7, to Sunday, February 9, 2025, the multidisciplinary Grauzone Festival will once again take place in The Hague. Tomorrow, the festival will reveal over fifteen new names, including a unique solo piano show by Zola Jesus, as well as performances by Tramhaus, Kris Baha, Anika, Night In Athens, Güner Künier, Krismika, and many more.

Zola Jesus, the celebrated artist from the US, will finally perform at Grauzone. This won’t be a regular show—she’ll present an intimate solo piano set, stripping down her songs to their raw essence. Zola Jesus will travel exclusively to perform at Grauzone, making this a one-of-a-kind experience for festival-goers.

Another highlight is Kris Baha, no stranger to Grauzone, who will deliver a powerful live set filled with EBM, industrial sounds, and 90s-inspired electronic music. His performances are known for their high-energy and innovative edge. Grauzone is also thrilled to welcome Tramhaus, the rising post-punk stars from Rotterdam. This marks their first Dutch show since the release of their debut album, The First Exit, which has garnered widespread acclaim for its raw intensity and authentic sound.

The enigmatic Anika (aka Anika Henderson) will also take the stage. Known for blending dub, post-punk, and psychedelic music, Anika’s set will feature tracks from her upcoming album, set to release next year on Sacred Bones Records. Her haunting voice and experimental sound make her a standout in any lineup.

From Greece, Night In Athens brings a minimal synth and darkwave aesthetic. Her analogue-driven sound, combined with detached vocals, captures the stark beauty of cold wave revival. Turkish artist Güner Künier, now based in Berlin, will showcase a fusion of post-punk, shoegaze, krautrock, and riot grrrl influences, creating a distinct and refreshing soundscape.

Also featured is Sepand Dadbeh, a multi-instrumentalist from Iran who has mastered traditional instruments like the Tombak, Oud, and Tanbour. Sepand’s music is steeped in heritage yet forward-thinking in its interpretation of multiculturalism. Making their Netherlands debut, Antwerp’s Rehash delivers razor-sharp post-punk reminiscent of Gang of Four. Their debut EP, Aktion Reaktion!, has solidified their place as a rising force in the punk scene.

The festival will also introduce A Spiral Walk, the exciting new project of DJ/producer Mayo and Cas Hieltjes (known from Go Back To The Zoo and St. Tropez). This duo blends melancholic vocals with heavy beats and electronic experimentation, promising an immersive live performance.

Dutch-Sudanese artist Maha Eljak leads MAHA, blending 70s punk and new wave to create an unapologetic and politically charged sound. Maha’s collaboration with Bastiaan Bosma (Ploegendienst, Aux Raus) is fearless and captivating. Dutch/UK act Bombstrap is set to deliver their signature “Rotterdam terror punk,” combining visceral live energy with politically charged anthems, led by powerhouse frontwoman Eva Velema. Another local act, Chattermag, hailing from The Hague, brings gritty punk vibes with high-octane energy. They’re a festival favorite in the making.

The DJ lineup includes rising talents Krismika (Rotterdam) and Camy Huot (Utrecht), who will spin cutting-edge sets of EBM, wave, and electronic music.

Film Screening: Electronic Body Movie
Grauzone will also host the Dutch premiere of Electronic Body Movie, the first-ever documentary about the history and rediscovery of EBM. The film features rare footage, unreleased live performances, and exclusive interviews with EBM pioneers and today’s innovators, showcasing the genre’s ongoing influence on contemporary music.
