Focus on France with Sound of France program

Grauzone 2026 presents The Sound of France, a special programme highlighting underexposed French artists and movements that have rarely — or never — been seen in the Netherlands, with a strong focus on gender equality and queer culture. France has a rich musical history and has long been a breeding ground for innovative, boundary-pushing sounds.

With The Sound of France, we aim to bridge different eras and genres by showcasing both emerging and iconic artists, tracing the evolution of French music and its lasting influence on today’s underground scene. As with the entire Grauzone festival, diversity, inclusivity, and space for queer artists are at the core of this programme.
