NGHTCRWL (US)
NGHTCRWLR is the visceral solo project of Los Angeles– and New York–based artist Kris Esfandiari, widely known as the voice behind the doom-gaze phenomenon King Woman, but also featured in the short film The Runner made by Boy Harsher. With NGHTCRWLR, Esfandiari dives into a darker, club-driven universe where industrial noise, dystopian electronics, and experimental sound design collide. Her latest album OZ, released on the forward-thinking Swedish label YEAR0001, marks her most ambitious work yet—an apocalyptic, beat-heavy exploration of identity, desire, and disorientation.
OZ expands her sonic palette with jungle rhythms, warped club textures, harsh ambience, and avant-garde production, forming a ten-track world that feels like a fever dream. The album follows the acclaimed single and video Replicant, directed by Jenni Hensler and featuring a cameo by A$AP TyY, further cementing Esfandiari’s unique visual and sonic aesthetic.
NGHTCRWLR’s live shows blur the line between performance art and club ritual. Using heavily processed vocals, grinding low-end, and fractured rhythms, she constructs immersive sets that challenge the expectations of contemporary electronic music. Her sound is abrasive yet hypnotic, emotional yet confrontational—an experience that leaves audiences shaken in the best possible way.
Beyond her musical output, Esfandiari has expanded into film, with powerful roles in I Saw the TV Glow (A24) and The Runner (Boy Harsher). She has also collaborated with the estate of Alan Vega (Suicide), reflecting her deep roots in experimental art and underground culture.
We are proud to welcome NGHTCRWLR for her first-ever Dutch performance, exclusively at Grauzone.
