ORA COGAN (CAN)

Born from the dark forests of Vancouver Island, Ora Cogan creates spellbinding folk-noir where psychedelia, shoegaze, post-punk and gothic country drift into one another. Her haunting voice and reverb-soaked songs evoke echoes of Karen Dalton, Mazzy Star and Cocteau Twins, while remaining entirely her own.

Her latest album Hard Hearted Woman, released on Sacred Bones Records (Marissa Nadler, Emma Ruth Rundle), wraps deeply personal and political songs in a smoky, cinematic atmosphere. Mysterious, intimate and beautifully impossible to categorize.
