Toulon electronic/ techno / dark wave/ ebm duo Potochkine; Pauline Alcaïdé and Hugo Sempé, merge the pulsating energy of dance EBM with the enchanting allure of French chanson, creating a sound that is as poetic as it is powerful. Since their 2016 debut EP Libérez votre imagination, the pair have carved their own world of dark, theatrical electronics — equal parts body, blood, and poetry.

Across three studio albums, including 2021’s spellbinding Sortilèges, Potochkine has continued to evolve, reinventing EBM through the incandescent blackness of techno, synthpunk, and coldwave. Their performances are electrifying rituals: raw and magnetic.

Now, with their forthcoming album Sang d’Encre, out October 2025 on Young & Cold Records (Twin Tribes, Forever Grey, NNHMN), the duo opens a new chapter. Translating to “Ink of Blood,” the record channels fragility, intensity, and desire into seven hauntingly expressive tracks, a striking blend of performance art and emotional catharsis. Lead single “BI” already hints at this duality, oscillating between cold precision and ecstatic release.

With their unmistakable mix of coldwave, electronic rhythm, and theatrical poetry, Potochkine have secured their place as one of Europe’s most vital and uncompromising darkwave acts.
