Rosa Anschütz

Berlin-based musician and artist Rosa Anschütz returns to Grauzone after a few years with her fourth album, Sabbatical.  One of her most post-punk and poetically gothic work to date, released through Heartworm Press, the label founded by Cold Cave's Wes Eisold.

Over the years, Rosa has carved out a unique space between darkwave, experimental music and contemporary art. Her work has attracted attention far beyond underground circles, including a collaboration with techno pioneer Ellen Allien, who remixed her music for release on BPitch Control and has previously performed at Grauzone herself.

On Sabbatical, echoes of Nico, Björk and Dead Can Dance emerge alongside the dark romanticism of Nick Cave and the emotional intensity of PJ Harvey, resulting in a deeply atmospheric and captivating collection of songs. Alongside her recording work, Anschütz also composed the acclaimed soundtrack for the 2025 film How to Be Normal and the Oddness of the Other World, further showcasing the breadth of her artistic vision.

We’re delighted to welcome her back. This time, she returns with an expanded live set-up featuring a drummer, adding new depth, dynamics and intensity in her performance.
